Bradford Woods is a borough of about 1,200 residents and roughly 500 homes, 3 miles and an 8-minute drive from our office by way of Perry Highway, Bradford Road and Forest Road. It covers less than a square mile, with Marshall Township on three sides and Pine Township to the east. The borough office is on Wexford Run Road.
Bradford Woods began as a summer getaway reached by the Harmony interurban line along what is now Forest Road, and it was incorporated in 1915. Census estimates (ACS 2020–2024) put about 54 percent of its homes before 1980 and about a quarter before 1950, and the borough says no two homes are alike. Mixed ages mean mixed doors: older sections beside newer ones, hardware that does not match, and openers added decades after the door. We identify the door’s make-up before we choose parts.
The county profile calls the terrain rolling, very wooded land with some steep slopes. On wooded lots we look for leaves and needles in the bottom track before we test travel.
