Mars is a Butler County borough of about half a square mile, set in a small valley along Breakneck Creek, 7 miles and about 15 minutes from our office by Perry Highway, Wallace Road and Warrendale Road. The Mars mailing address (16046) is also used across much of Adams Township, so a Mars address does not always mean the home is inside the borough.
Mars has the highest share of pre-1940 homes of any town we serve. Census estimates (ACS 2020–2024) put about 54 percent of its homes before 1980 and a third before 1940, and nearly half of its housing units are in buildings with three or more units. The borough’s history records its first paved street, Grand Avenue, in 1911, and most newer subdivisions with a Mars address sit in surrounding Adams Township. In older single-door garages we check track and hinges before the opener; in multi-unit buildings we confirm whether the door is yours or the building’s.
